Welcome to Kemper Academy for Teaching and Learning
Where we Train. Empower. Teach.
Are you interested in learning research-proven strategies to empower children with learning differences?
Kemper Academy for Teaching and Learning, an affiliate of The de Paul School, named for Tony Kemper, former Head of School, with a focus on kindergarten through 8th-grade students with learning differences (ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia), offers four services, including professional development, internships, tutoring services, and community outreach.

Through educational workshops, expert de Paul faculty lead research-informed Kemper Academy educator and parent workshops throughout the school year. During our workshops, we share our unique and innovative language structured curriculum of best practices in support of kindergarten through 8th-grade students with learning differences (ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia) to the community.
Internships at The de Paul School are open to high school and college students interested in education to gain pedagogical and hands-on experience with mentor classroom teachers who teach students with learning differences.
After-School Tutoring Services (beginning the 2022-2023 school year) are offered through Kemper Academy to provide resources to students with learning differences to develop their independence, knowledge, and success.
Community outreach allows us to connect and partner with surrounding schools, businesses, and organizations, to further extend our services beyond de Paul and into the greater community on a local, national, and international level.
Kemper Academy Faculty, comprised of expert de Paul classroom teachers and administrators, facilitate research-informed educational workshops, in-person and virtually, focused on offering best practices to support students in kindergarten through 8th grade with learning differences. Educational workshops are open to the public. Each workshop is $50.
Our mission is to share the de Paul Difference—our unique and innovative language structured curriculum to train educators, empower families, and teach students— locally, nationally, and internationally.
