The Effects of the Pandemic on Students with Learning Differences
Facilitated by Phil Howell and Denise Jett
The Covid-19 Global Pandemic has affected students, educators, and families alike. Transitioning to remote teaching and learning has had some very devastating results for students with learning differences. Educators and psychologists report that the pandemic has not only significantly affected children’s executive functioning and decision-making but has directly impacted many students' academic progress. This presentation explores the impact of the pandemic on a student's social awareness, self-regulation, and motivation, while also examining the influence on student learning.
