The de Paul School family is dedicated to teaching children with learning differences how to learn, be independent and be successful. Our specially trained and exceptionally skilled teachers, coupled with research-based curriculum that is tailored to meet the specific strengths and needs of the students, provides every student and alumni an environment where they can achieve more than they ever dreamed possible.
These great achievements are even more attainable with The de Paul School’s largest fundraising event, “de Party for de Paul”. This year, for the first time ever, the event took place within the walls of the 110-year old building which allowed attendees to experience first hand all the wonderful renovations that took place this past summer. Plus, it allowed each person to experience what the “de Paul difference” can make even in just one night.
de Party attendees were greeted by smiling faces from some of the de Paul School students themselves and they were able to bid on amazing silent auction items provided by generous donors and even individual de Paul classes. Guests then traveled to the gymnasium where a beautiful scene of blue and gold accented by white lights set the tone for the evening’s festivities. No guest left hungry, as several food stations were set up so that guests could dine at their leisure throughout the evening. “We are truly grateful for this wonderful building that we’re in this evening”, stated Lisa Cobb, Chief Development Officer for The de Paul School. “We’re so excited for each person that walks through the doors this evening to really be able to experience what exceptional things are happening at The de Paul School.”
The main program got underway with impactful testimonials from two de Paul School teachers and the evening’s entertainment was provided by de Paul School students reciting poetry and literature excerpts. The pinnacle of the evening were the real-time donations lead by emcee, Gil Corsey, anchor from WDRB-TV. By the end of the evening, The de Paul School increased their net donations from de Party by over 28% from last year, raising $98,000! All proceeds from the evening’s events will go directly to need-based scholarships for de Paul School students in the 2019-2020 school year. “We are so grateful and overwhelmed by the continued generosity of our donors and community supporters. Because of them, we can provide more students who need The de Paul School, the opportunity to experience the de Paul difference every day,” states Cobb.
