The de Paul School - Education For Children With Learning Differences
Every child learns differently, and at The de Paul School, our mission is simple. We provide a caring and supportive educational environment for bright, talented students who are challenged by a learning difference.
The de Paul School was established to meet the unique needs of our kindergarten through eighth-grade students. This includes students who are challenged by mathematics, written expression, auditory processing deficits, and extremely deficient organizational skills. This also includes those who have been diagnosed with dyslexia or ADHD. Because we realize that every child learns differently, we teach differently. This is why our teaching methods are custom for every student to support their success. Learn more about our unique program at The de Paul School by reading the information below.
Why The de Paul School?
Learning disabilities are more common than you think, and they change the way your child learns and processes information. By definition, they interfere with a child’s basic skills and education. It may even make reading and writing more difficult. As a result, the student is discouraged from participating in school.
At The de Paul School, we understand many different types of learning disabilities, such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. We also understand how to tailor our curriculum so that students meet and exceed their expectations. By seeing themselves overcome a particularly difficult challenge, they may even look forward to attending school!
We also believe in a well-rounded education, which is why we offer different extracurricular clubs during the Fall and Spring semesters. These programs are offered for any of our students that would like to be involved in activities outside of the classroom. They’re also beneficial for students to become more confident in a social setting.
The instructors at The de Paul school teach students how to learn and become independent. We help them to “fill in the gaps” and give them the tools and strategies to achieve everything they want to do as they grow in their education. In fact, students from the de Paul School in Louisville, KY have gone on to graduate from top high schools, colleges, and universities from around the country. We’re constantly adding to the list as we connect with past alumni! We couldn’t be more proud to be a part of it.
